Garrett Turbo loaders – Small Package, Big Output.

In the field of forced induction, there always seems to be a tradeoff. In return for a very immediate boost (in the case of positive displacement blowing devices), you may anticipate suffering from the parasite drag in the engine (with centrifugal superchargers). For turbo-powered cars, the compensation was always high with a lower maximum output compared to a higher output delayed response. Fortunately, the technology has made way for a new turbocharger to bridge this gap more closely than its predecessors, the G-series of Garrett.

Boost production over 81 years

In 1936, John Garrett set up his firm. Since the 1980s, the time-tested Turbochargers of the GT series have driven countless vehicles in various racing genres on the front of the pack and on top of the hill into the victor’s circle. The company was also a cornerstone in the compact sports sector, bringing increased pressure on a number of high-profile buildings from the mid-1990s. Garrett debuted the GTX series at the end of 2009, which took on the established architecture of the GT turbocharger and strengthened its output potentials by improving CNC compressor roll designs made from forged aluminum billets. Garrett presented their latest turbocharger flagship, the G-series, during the 17 SEMA Show. These new snails are intended to revolutionize the game with the most output from the smallest set.

Design of clean sheet

The G-Series turbos were created from a clean sheet by the Honeywell Garrett engineers. These new turbochargers combine state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing processes, free of any prior building materials or models. From its center box rotating assembly (CHRA) to its turbine boxes and its aluminum compressor boxes, the complete turbocharger is new. With earlier turbocharger models there are no common components. The best way to understand the advances of the G-Series is to look at one from within.

Reduced friction compact

The core of the turbocharger G-Series is its unique conception of CHRA. This housing has an 8mm, dual ceramic ball cartridge for lower friction, faster spinning, and longer durability. In order to minimize weight and size, the compressor rear plate is now coated as part of CHRA. The profile of the CHRA is thus smaller than before, making it smaller and more compact overall. This is particularly advantageous for space-limited or close-mounted applications. In order to provide installers additional installation options, Garrett has added two water ports on either side of the CHR. The turbocharger package also includes water port fittings and an oil restrictor.
