Cummins Turbo Technologies’ Series 800 Holset Turbocharger now has an all-new compressor stage. The Series 800 Holset Turbocharger from CTT is a solution that focuses on performance and uptime in industrialised sectors.
The Series 800 Turbocharger, which was already a fundamental component of CTT’s product portfolio, has been rejuvenated to provide substantial increases in performance, flow range, thermal capability, and seal durability.
The Series 800 turbocharger has achieved best-in-class performance by using technical improvements such as:
- High-pressure ratio compressor
- Thin wall stainless steel compressor lid
- • High-temperature competent turbine housing
- Increased seal and joint sturdiness
We are implementing High-Pressure Ratio Compressor technology on the Series 800 Turbocharger for the first time. This product architecture extends the flow range by up to 25% and is suited for pressure ratios of up to 6.5:1. These features have enabled our clients to increase engine performance by 20-40% without the requirement for a two-stage architecture. We’ve also enabled higher altitude capabilities for a variety of applications. The HPRC solution significantly enhances the efficiency of our products. During engine simulation work, these advancements allow air management designs that have resulted in 5-7 per cent BSFC improvements for current applications.
The new Series 800 Holset Turbocharger is offered with a thin-walled stainless-steel compressor lid, allowing us to enhance capability without increasing weight or space. We also provide lead-free bearings, high-temperature turbine housings, and improved the strength of our joints and seals.
Cummins’ ongoing commitment to research and development allows us to provide new solutions for this market. We are now working on an integrated electronic wastegate for better flow management, as well as improving turbine stage efficiency.
