Twin Turbo vs. Biturbo – The Ultimate Comparison
One of the first areas many people are searching for a stronger and better engine is a turbocharger. Interchangeable Application
The phrases Biturbo and twin-turbo are, unlike conventional perceptions, interchangeable. There is a similar meaning to the word “dual turbo.” In this situation, there is no differentiation. A vehicle manufacturer may use the words ‘twin-turbo or ‘biturbo’ when discussing the dual turbocharger system of a vehicle but there are no accepted criteria if one phrase is to be used over the other.
Parallel dual turbochargers are occasionally called “two turbos,” but “Biturbo,” even though this is not always the case, is a sequential dual turbocharger, and you often hear the other word.
Dual Turbochargers in Parallel
There are two identical turbo loaders on parallel dual-turbo loader systems, each allotted to its own engine bank. If, for instance, the V6 has a motor, then cylinders 1 to 3 can be designated for the first turbocharger and cylinders 4 to 6 for the second turbocharger. If you have a V8 engine, one of the parallel two turbocharger turbochargers will handle rollers one to four, while the other handles rollers five to eight. The two turbochargers are probably the same size, which is why the system is known as twin turbos. They feature a lower turbo lag than other turbocharger systems in the Nissan 300ZX and the Mitsubishi 3000GT.
Dual Sequential Turbochargers
Two turbos of various diameters employ sequential twin turbochargers as opposed to parallel dual turbochargers.
